Responsibilities:

Data Management

  • Manage and optimize the donor database (currently Raiser’s Edge), ensuring the timely and accurate entry of gift and donor data.
  • Process and personalize gift acknowledgment letters for all donations, including planned gifts, tribute letters, and corporate/foundation gifts.
  • Generate and maintain reports, mailing lists, donor profiles, and giving history.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date data for campaign tracking, events, strategic planning, and research needs.
  • Generate and distribute regular reports to internal stakeholders (weekly/monthly, as directed by VP).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for database training and support, working with the database vendor and IT department.

Data Analytics

  • Execute a comprehensive data management strategy to organize and maintain large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
  • Oversee data collection, validation, cleansing, and integration processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency across multiple systems.
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, and Program teams to implement and optimize data management systems, tools, and technologies.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and create dashboards to track program and grant performance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and data management best practices to recommend improvements.
  • Present data insights and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner.

Additional Advancement Responsibilities

  • Assist with grant proposal submissions and major gift activities as needed.
  • Provide donor research support using Wealth Engine and other available tools.
  • Support development projects, events, and donor stewardship initiatives.

Requirements:

Education

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing, Communication, English, Nonprofit Management, Computer Science or a related field.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in data management, analytics, and/or fundraising/development.
  • Experience with database entry, management, and reporting (preferably Raiser’s Edge).
  • Strong background in managing large volumes of data and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Proven ability to generate and analyze reports, mailing lists, and donor profiles.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a strong acumen for numbers.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and juggling multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively in a complex organization.
  • Highly computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of emerging data management technologies and best practices.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools beyond Raiser’s Edge (Salesforce, etc.).
  • Experience developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for fundraising and programmatic goals.
  • Ability to present data insights and recommendations to senior leadership in a compelling way.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Experience

  • Experience in a nonprofit or fundraising environment.
  • Experience with donor research tools (e.g., Wealth Engine).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (IT, Finance, Programs).
