Summary

Anaconda is seeking a talented Director, Web Experience and Applications to join our rapidly-growing company. This is an excellent opportunity for you to leverage your experience and skills in web development and application architecture to shape the future of our key products and user experiences.

What You’ll Do:

As the Director of Web Experience and Applications, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development and evolution of Anaconda's web-based products and services, while ensuring a consistent, world-class user experience across our entire product portfolio.

• Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the technical vision and roadmap for Anaconda's complete web presence, including enterprise products, consumer applications, and developer tools. Guide the evolution of our web/UI experience strategy across all platforms.
• Product Portfolio Management: Oversee the development and maintenance of key products including Notebook service, PyScript.com, Edublocks.org, PyExcel, and Navigator, while ensuring consistent UI/UX standards across all consumer and enterprise offerings.
• Enterprise Experience: Lead the design and implementation of sophisticated web interfaces for enterprise products, ensuring they meet the complex needs of corporate clients while maintaining ease of use.
• Consumer Experience: Drive the development of intuitive, engaging interfaces for Anaconda's consumer-facing products, optimizing for both new users and experienced developers.
• Design System Leadership: Establish and maintain a comprehensive design system that ensures consistency across all Anaconda products while enabling efficient development and scaling.
• Team Management: Build and lead multiple engineering teams focused on web technologies, applications, and user experience. Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and user-centered design.
• Cross-Platform Integration: Ensure seamless integration and consistent user experience between web applications, desktop applications, and Anaconda's broader ecosystem of tools and services.
• Technology Innovation: Drive architectural decisions and technology choices that enable scalable, maintainable, and performant web applications across the entire product suite.
• User Research & Metrics: Implement systems for gathering and analyzing user feedback and behavior metrics to drive continuous improvement of web experiences.
• Performance Optimization: Lead initiatives to improve application performance, reliability, and user satisfaction across all web properties and products.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure all web applications and interfaces meet enterprise-grade security requirements while maintaining excellent user experience.
• Community Engagement: Collaborate with open-source communities and stakeholders to align product development with community needs while maintaining professional-grade experiences.
  

What You Need:

• 8+ years of experience in engineering and people management, with a proven ability to lead and inspire teams.
• Extensive background in web development, including expertise in modern web technologies, frameworks, and scalable application architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Python web development and related technologies, with a strong technical foundation.
• Demonstrated success in delivering complex web applications at scale, meeting high-quality and performance standards.
• Experience with cloud platforms and deployment strategies, ensuring reliable and efficient application delivery.
• Strong understanding of user experience principles and best practices to build user-centered products.
• Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration, particularly between engineering and product teams, to align technical execution with strategic goals.
