Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and bilingual (English Japanese) professional to join us as a Digital Twin OSS Upstream Consultation Specialist.
In this role, you will oversee the comprehensive solution architecture of Digital Twin systems, encompassing data models, integration strategies, and scalability planning. You will engage directly with management & technical experts in Japan, contributing to discussions on feature sets, functionality decisions, and proposing various use cases and technical solutions. You'll leverage Digital Twin, 3D Modelling, visualization systems, South bound APIs, Prediction Models and related technologies to address key challenges in existing systems.
You will leverage your technical expertise and Japanese language fluency to ensure seamless communication, foster collaboration, and drive successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Digital Twin & OSS Expertise:
- Possess a strong understanding of Digital Twin architectures, functionalities, and implementation considerations, with a specific focus on leveraging Open-Source Software (OSS) solutions also.
- Actively participate in technical discussions related to Digital Twin projects, including architecture design, requirement analysis, feasibility studies, and OSS selection.
- Stay up to date on the latest advancements in Digital Twin technologies and relevant OSS projects.
- Consultation Facilitation:
- Collaborate with internal teams and upstream consultants to schedule and manage meetings effectively.
- Prepare comprehensive agendas and talking points to ensure productive discussions focused on leveraging OSS for Digital Twin solutions.
- Proactively follow up on action items and maintain clear communication to ensure project timelines are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Fluency in English and Japanese, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum 5-6 years of experience working in a technical environment, preferably with Digital Twin projects.
- Solid understanding of Digital Twin concepts, architectures, and implementation strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant OSS technologies applicable to Digital Twin solutions (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Apache Kafka, TensorFlow, etc.).
- Experience working with upstream consultants and technical communities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Must Have Skills:
- Understanding of Digital Twin fundamentals: This includes the core principles of digital twins, their benefits and limitations, and different types of digital twins (e.g., product, process, system).
- Knowledge of data management and integration: Understanding data acquisition methods (sensors, APIs, databases), data processing techniques, and strategies for integrating data with the digital twin platform.
- Familiarity with IoT technologies: Basic knowledge of sensors, actuators, and communication protocols used in the Internet of Things (IoT) for real-time data collection and monitoring.
- Awareness of relevant simulation and modeling tools: Exposure to tools used for building and simulating the digital representation of physical assets.
- Software architecture principles: Solid understanding of software architecture principles like scalability, security, maintainability, and performance optimization.
- Experience with cloud platforms: Familiarity with leading cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for deploying and managing the digital twin solution.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies: Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for packaging and deploying microservices within the digital twin platform.
- Familiarity with relevant databases: Knowledge of databases suitable for storing and managing different types of data associated with the digital twin (e.g., time-series databases for sensor data).
- Understanding of APIs and Microservices: Knowledge of designing and implementing APIs for data exchange between the digital twin platform and other systems.
Good To Have Skills:
- Should have good hands-on digital twin use cases like real time watch using Digital Twin models, monitoring, controlling & simulation.
- Should have hands on edge computing use cases.
- Should have hands on 3D modelling & related technologies like Cesium, lidar.
- Programming languages: Experience with programming languages commonly used in backend development for digital twin solutions (e.g., Python, Java).
- Scripting languages: Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation and system administration tasks.
- Security principles: Awareness of cybersecurity principles and best practices for building secure digital twin solutions.
Specialization Description
Technical Project Management requires specific technical knowledge to plan, organize, and control resources, procedures, and timing for a technical process or project including:
- Developing detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports, conducting risk analysis and monitoring the progress of plans against project milestones and budgets
- Providing technical and analytical guidance to the project team
- Ensuring adherence to quality standards and review of project deliverables
- Analyzing and documenting requirements by liaising with a range of users in the organization
- On some projects, where applicable, manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverablesSpecialization Match Note: Para-Professional incumbents update/maintain project schedules and associated resource plans and prepares progress reports. Para-Professional support may be in a Project Management Office (PMO) environment supporting multiple IT Projects.
