Insurity’s Next Senior Data Scientist

Our Senior Data Scientist will be an integral part of Insurity Analytics, working closely and collaboratively with insurance domain authorities, data analysts, engineers, and customers. They will develop highly robust predictive models that provide significant and measurable results for our customers. Additionally, they will partner with the sales and marketing teams to perform then deliver modeling proofs-of-concept & retro-tests, as well as help craft and deliver compelling product performance reads, product & concept education, and value proposition messaging. 

 

What Our Senior Data Scientist Will Do

  • Conduct and lead advanced analytics activities leveraging predictive modeling, machine learning, simulation, optimization, and other techniques to deliver insights or develop analytical solutions to achieve business objectives.
  • Prepare and present written and verbal reports, findings, and presentations to key stakeholders, distilling complex statistical information into easy-to-understand business language.
  • Effectively represent the Data Science group in a collaborative environment to execute on company goals.
  • Support Subject Matter Experts on efforts to develop scalable and robust solutions.
  • Translate complex analytical and technical concepts for the non-technical team members to enable understanding and drive informed business decisions
  • Provide mentorship to team members in technical data science techniques
  • Inspire teammates with authoritative knowledge of machine learning, statistics and business principles.
  • Strive to develop subject matter expertise within domain.

 

Who We’re Looking For

  • Recommended: 3-5 years’ experience
  • Recommended: Graduate degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, etc. or equivalent quantitative field (equivalent work experience may be considered)
  • Preferred: Masters or PhD in quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, etc. or equivalent quantitative field 
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with statistical modeling software, data visualization software & tools, version control systems, and databases/data structures.
  • Fundamental understanding of programming and scripting experience
  • Exemplary relationship builder with coworkers and customers
  • Detail-oriented and has excellent time management skills including work planning, prioritization, and organization.

We have five Core Values at Insurity; one of which is to Act with Integrity.  Providing pay transparency helps you make the best decision for you.  We continuously analyze and update our salary ranges for our roles according to market trends to not only ensure our employees are paid fairly, but also help close gender, race, and disability wage gaps. Along with the benefits listed above, the salary range for this role is $75,000 - $135,000, commensurate with experience.
