Position Overview

Autodesk Research is looking for a passionate and skilled graduate research intern for summer 2025 at our Toronto office located in the MaRS Discovery District.

The ideal intern will work on solving a complex engineering design problem using deep generative AI models. We are interested in investigating various deep learning techniques such as Transformers, LSTMs, Diffusion models, Autoencoders, Graph Neural Nets, Deep Reinforcement Learning (RLxF), etc.

The candidate should have experience in developing one or
more of those models and applying them to solve a problem of interest.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct original research in developing, extending, and/or applying deep learning methods for solving an engineering design problem

  • Architect and implement a data generation and model training/testing pipeline

  • Publish the outcome at a top-tier AI conference

  • Create a prototype/demo to showcase the solution and present the results to internal audiences


Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, or other related disciplines

  • Exceptional Master’s degree candidates will also be considered

  • Demonstrated success in solving difficult problems with deep learning methods (e.g., publication at top-tier conferences)

  • Experience working with PyTorch and other data science and machine learning libraries in Python

  • Excellent knowledge of the latest research in the domain of expertise

  • Experience in synthetic dataset generation would be a plus

  • Experience in engineering design would be a plus
