- Lead the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry, and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities.
- Lead and coordinate the domain technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction across the product portfolio or product line.
- Analyze design and develop a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
- Leverage machine learning (ML) and other artificial intelligence technologies to automate, optimize the software development and delivery processes.
- Review and/or analyze and develop architectural requirements at domain level within product portfolio or team. Participate in the enterprise architecture domain governance model.
- Uses technology expertise, Industry & competitive intelligence, and deep knowledge of customer preferences to conceive, evaluate, design & deliver superior product / service through implementation of Build, Release and Continuous Integration systems to ensure that products meet and exceed requirements.
- Contribute to the development of software and data delivery platforms with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods.
- Finds opportunities for collaboration across groups in the division, ensures team commitments are set, and achieved.
- Develops effective as well as innovative infrastructure and systems that provide consistent, predictable, and scalable methods to ensure accurate product builds and reliable release schedule that ensures product features in alignment with the long-term plan for the product/service.
- Drives new ways of thinking, across groups within the division, to improve quality, engineering productivity, and responsiveness to feedback and changing priorities.
- Analyzes, designs, and develops a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
- Provides subject matter expertise in processes and methodologies with ability to adapt and improvise in various situations.
- Establish best in class global software development processes & standards.
- Defines quality metrics, best practices, and coding patterns, and provides deep expertise on the release strategy.
- Guide junior team members in the art and science of software development, promoting a quality-centric approach to software development.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum 12 years of software development experience in an industry environment.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Software Architect leading a technical team delivering software designs and guiding the team.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in object-oriented design and programming in a production software environment using Agile/Waterfall development methodologies.
- Experience in one or more programming and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Bash, JavaScript, Java, Ruby, SQL, C/C++.
- Experience in machine learning (ML) and other artificial intelligence technologies to automate, optimize the software development and delivery processes.
- Expertise in modern software development practices, tools and environments including practical usage of Configuration Management systems, Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery tools.
- Experience working on Linux based platforms, core data structures and algorithms.
- Proven knowledge of the Software development lifecycle in product delivery and maintenance in the regulated medical industry domain.

- Constantly analyzes industry trends in software development practices, technology stacks and becomes a change agent in driving them across the Imaging Platform Software Organization.
- Collaborates with Chief Architects, Principal Engineers, cross-functional team architects to understand their evolving requirements and translate them to architectural runway features and executes them.
- Demonstrates mastery of the intricacies of interactions and dynamics in Agile teams. Guides the team to adopt Agile, troubleshoots adoption efforts, and guides continuous improvement.
- Drives elimination of inefficiencies in legacy infrastructure & development practices. Willing to learn innovative technologies as well as maintain existing products. Flexible with roles and job duties per business requirements
- Hands-on experience with multiple relevant technologies that may include Java, Perl/Python, JavaScript, Code analysis tools (e.g., SonarQube, Coverity), Docker, VMWare, Chef/Ansible/Puppet tech stacks.
