The Data Analyst Co-op is responsible for identifying patterns and causations from structured and unstructured data of our business function verticals (Commercials, Finance, IT, Supply chain, Operations). The DA will utilize various supervised, self-supervised and unsupervised learning techniques to draw insight and gain predictive power to mission critical KPI’s that drive business objectives.

FishHawk site located in Lithia, FL.

Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

Term 

January 13 - April 25, 2025. 

Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hours a week. Hybrid, 2-3 days on site.

What will you do? 

  • Develop, quality test, and deploy algorithms using a variety of artificial intelligence/machine learning techniques  

  • Conduct data acquisition, exploration, preparation, and preprocessing.   

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to scope the business opportunity.   

  • Summarize and present technical information to inform leaders to influence business decisions.   

  • Comply with Environmental Health/Safety, operations and other business requirements.   

  • Engage in self-development to enrich your skillset to fulfill your career aspirations.   

What do you need for this role?

  • Junior level or higher pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Data Science or Statistics.  

  • Have completed courses in Calculus, Differential Equations, Statistics, and coding in Python, R, Javascript, or something similar.    

  • Working knowledge of Tensorflow, Pytorch, Sklearn.  

  • Completed coursework in building, training, and testing machine learning models.  

  • Ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.       

  • Masters or PhD candidate is preferred 

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platform (Azure, AWS, GCP) is preferred  

  • Experience with MLOps tools (Azure DevOps. AzureML) is a plus 

  •  2.75 GPA or higher 

  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment  

  • Student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship 

  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is required  

  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred  

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.  

  • Basic computer skills are required 

  • Experience working in a team environment is a must 

  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable 

  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus 

  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments 

  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete the following: Post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
