Electrical Department:

The Electrical Department at the Central Engineering Center (CEC) of Dow India plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of electrical systems across various facilities. This department is responsible for designing, maintaining, and upgrading electrical infrastructure to support Dow’s manufacturing and research activities. They focus on implementing advanced technologies and sustainable practices to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The team collaborates closely with other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical solutions seamlessly into broader projects. Additionally, they prioritize safety and compliance with industry standards, ensuring that all electrical installations meet rigorous quality and safety requirements. Through continuous innovation and technical expertise, the Electrical Department contributes significantly to Dow India’s mission of delivering high-performance, sustainable solutions.

Internship Project Area Opportunities:

• Electrical Design & Detailed Engineering of Process Plants
• Exposure to key aspects of Electrical Infrastructure Projects
• Power System Study and Analysis including Arc-Flash Protection.
• Electrical Substation Design. Sizing, Selection and Procurement Engineering of Transformers, Motors, UPS, VFDs, Generators, Motor Control Centers, Switchgears, Cables etc.
   

Civil, Structural and Buildings group (CSB):

Internship Project Area Opportunities:

• Intern trainees will be focusing on the Civil and Structural Design / Project Execution opportunities in Civil and Structural Engineering in the various Manufacturing DOW Sites.
• They would be given chance to work with Multifunction team from various regions and stakeholders.
• Their engagement will be working with the Project teams, latest construction techniques with SMEs & Construction Teams. 
• Expected result from the internship is to generate potential Know how about the Civil Project execution and Constructions techniques in Civil Engineering field.
• This project will provide the team an overall perspective of Engineering, Project Execution and Construction areas of Industrial Projects.

Instrument Design Engineering Department:

The Instrument Design Engineering Department at the Central Engineering Center (CEC) of Dow India is pivotal in developing and maintaining precise instrumentation systems for various industrial processes. This department focuses on designing, calibrating, and integrating instruments that ensure accurate measurement and control within Dow’s manufacturing and research facilities. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and innovative practices, the team enhances operational efficiency and safety. They work closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of instrumentation solutions into broader projects. Additionally, the department prioritizes compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring all systems meet stringent quality and safety benchmarks. Internship Project Area Opportunities:

• Supporting a live project in small/Intermediate/large capital project space.
• Supporting to generate a project design deliverable and learn to interpret the P&IDs, prepare the instrument list, work in the design tool of SPI, preparation of data sheets.
• Learn the inter discipline collaboration requirements in engineering a project.
• The focus area of design would be the field instrument design from the selection of Instrument technology, procurement till Installation and Wiring.
• Mentored and supported by more than one dedicated resource in the project team that you will be part of.

Engineering Tool Excellence:

Operations IT/OT is looking for a talented Developer to be part of our Engineering Tools Excellence team. This is an excellent opportunity that provides significant personal growth and global project exposure. In this role the candidate will be expected to do data research (data mining, gathering, analysis, quality checks), identification of improvement areas, formatting and upon need basis provide innovative support using advanced technology across multiple work groups and business verticals in DOW.

The roles and responsibility will involve working in Global Improvement projects and working closely with P&ID team, communicating the findings to different stakeholders in a timely manner with higher quality. The role will be responsible to ensure proper quality checks are conducted, and the work processes documented to ensure sustainability.

Internship Project Area Opportunities:

• Develop and maintain P&ID conversion tool with Agile methodology with balancing customer requirements with industry trends and available technology.
• Proficient in technologies like Python, R, C#, added advantage to have Power BI and Power query experience.
• Provide analytics support on different topics as per the request from different stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Ensure the reports are high quality by conducting validation checks and verifying the information with Subject matter experts.
• Document the work process on data collection and cleanup to ensure transparency in data collection process and ensure sustainability of reports.

Process Automation Engineering:

The Process Automation Engineering Department at the Central Engineering Center (CEC) of Dow India is integral to optimizing and automating industrial processes. This team focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation systems that enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety in Dow’s manufacturing operations. By leveraging state-of-the-art technologies, they ensure seamless integration of automation solutions across various projects. The department collaborates closely with other engineering disciplines to develop innovative and sustainable automation strategies. They also prioritize compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring all systems meet stringent quality and safety benchmarks. Through their expertise and dedication, the Process Automation Engineering Department significantly contributes to Dow India’s mission of delivering high-performance, sustainable solutions.

Internship Project Area Opportunities:

• The student is expected to learn and understand Process control strategy – part of front-end loading work.
• The student expected to learn close loop monitoring and improvement in tuning the controller
• The student is expected to develop process control graphics on a DCS platform based on Process flow sheets and P&ID’s.
• Develop IO database and relevant inputs around it.
• Support the project teams on other engineering activities that will enable them to learn process control concepts.
• Document the learnings.

• Great if you can also highlight the tools/Software that you are proficiency in.

Must have Qualifications

• Currently in Bachelor’s Engineering degree for only:
  • Instrument Design Engineering
  • Chemical/Process Engineering
  • CS or IS
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
• Should not have any arrears or backlogs in the previous semesters.
• Proficiency in English language skills
• Excellent communication skills, combined with analytical skills to evaluate processes and develop improvement strategies
• Effective problem-solving competencies on both interpersonal and technical levels

• Upon completion of Internship, the student will be given Internship completion certificate.
• Interns who successfully completed and well performed may be considered for full-time employment upon graduation.
• You will collaborate closely with various departments, including managers, project assistants, and lead scientists.
