Junior Data Analyst Credit Risk

COO Risk delivers services and change activities for the Risk Organization. Our vision and purpose for COO Risk is clear: To deliver best in class data, insights and advice which empower our consumers to control, explain, predict and optimize the performance of ING. We play a critical role at ING and will be the go-to function for all kinds of data across the Bank.

As part of COO Risk, the Data Labs Product Group is responsible for delivering data for complex attributes that require transformation based on business logic, and require raw data flowing in from a multiple different (central and/or local) data sources. The output data is critical for our Credit Risk Modelling activities, as well as for Risk Reporting activities. As such, improving the data that we deliver has a strong & positive impact on the work of our colleagues, as well as ING’s balance sheet.

The Data Labs Product Group consists of 4 teams that work together in an agile way of working, and that are located in Amsterdam and Warsaw.

Roles and responsibilities

We are looking for a capable Data Analyst, who will bring our data to the next level. You combine data analyst skills to extract, transform and analyze data with business analyst skills to understand the business impact of our data products, and process management & collaboration skills to ensure the our data products land well within the organization. This could include:

• Researching the existing data landscape

• Interviewing stakeholders on their issues & needs

• Designing structural and tactical data solutions at the level of business processes as well as technical design

• Extracting data from central and local data sources

• Re-structuring and transforming data in line with user needs

• Analyzing data to ensure the data quality is sufficient

• Presenting proposed data solutions to, and convincing stakeholders

• Driving & coordinating the implementation of the agreed data solutions

• Verifying the quality of the delivered output before releasing top-notch data into our organization

• University (Bachelor’s/Master’s) Degree;

• Hands-on mentality, focused on making an impact;

• A personality and the capabilities to function effectively within an Agile environment;

• Competent knowledge of Banking/Credit Risk is a plus;

• Affinity with data and IT, preferably with experience in SAS/SQL queries;

• Strong (data) analytical skills, able to structure & solve conceptual and concrete problems;

• Solution design skills, able to design processes and high-level technical solutions;

• Critical mind-set with respect to what is delivered;

• Strong communicator, able to discern key message from the rest;

• Fluency in English both written and verbal (work language).
