Apple’s Strategic Data Solutions (SDS) team leads efforts to mitigate monetary losses, optimize various business processes, and improve the customer journey across various programs. Our team applies data science and machine learning to drive strategic impact across multiple lines of business at Apple. We are looking for an outstanding analyst who is interested in working with SDS partners to understand analytics needs and develop solutions to support our Fraud Investigator organization, with a primary focus on Wallet. They will sit side-by-side with our machine learning engineers and data scientists to analyze complex business problems with various datasources, communicate relevant insights to decision-makers, and work with fraud investigation and SDS leaders to scope and execute on an analytics plan for their organization. The ideal candidate works well in collaborative environments with minimal formal structure and is comfortable in changing environments with competing priorities. They must possess solid business acumen, a strong quantitative / technical background, natural curiosity, and the ability to effectively shift between communication styles based on the audience.

Description


Develop dashboards using Tableau and other analytics tools to support decision making and performance management Support discovery of business problems and potential solutions Analyze and interoperate new sources of data Perform ad-hoc and reoccurring statistical analyses Work with data warehouse architects and software developers to generate seamless business intelligence solutions for business partners Share results of analyses through presentations, written summaries, and analytics tools

Minimum Qualifications


  • BS / MS in associated field (math, statistics, engineering, computer science, analytics) OR BA / BS / MS in other field combined with relevant experience/training
  • At least 1-3 yrs experience working as a data/business analyst or related role
  • Competence with SQL and big data systems and tools
  • Data visualization experience using tools like Tableau
  • Experience applying analytical techniques to provide solutions to real business problems
  • Ability to tell meaningful and accurate stories with data


Preferred Qualifications


  • Familiarity with data science and modeling techniques
  • Programming skills in Python
  • Knowledge of fraud investigation and associated challenges and opportunities
  • Knowledge of financial fraud and customer behavior
  • Experience eliciting business requests, requirements, and metrics
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Creativity to go beyond current tools and processes to deliver the best solution to a problem
  • Inquisitiveness and a desire for continued self-improvement and development of new skills
  • Comfort working independently and making key decisions on projects
