In order to support the Big Data Team, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Working Student in Department Data Science & Data Services (d/f/m)

You are a full time student, looking for a working student position and want to get to know the work of Airbus. Then apply now! We look forward to you supporting us in Data Science & Data Services (TASDA1) as a working student (d/f/m) with approx. 18 hours a week!

• Duration: 12  months

Definition working student

Working students are students who are enrolled at a University or some other institution of higher education, and who are employed in a reasonably long, fixed-term position parallel to their studies. This position must not be confused with an internship or with the possibility of writing a final thesis.

This employment usually takes place directly on the company's premises. A working student's main focus remains on their studies, which is why, during term-time, working students are not allowed to work more than 20 hours per week.

Working students therefore usually work near their place of study, so as to conveniently combine studying and employment.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Product Discovery:

  • Participate in the discovery process by asking insightful questions.

  • Assist in identifying data analytics opportunities within the organization.

  • Perform exploratory data analysis and visualize findings.

• Data Structuring:

  • Help with data collation and transformation (data wrangling).

  • Provide support in creating datasets for analysis and machine learning.

  • Learn and apply basic data mining techniques.

• Data Products:

  • Support exploratory analyses and statistical evaluation of datasets.

  • Assist in developing prototypes and code primarily in Python.

  • Help with proof-of-concept initiatives and ad-hoc requests.

• Collaboration and Communication:

  • Present findings to team members and stakeholders in a clear and engaging manner.

  • Collaborate with other teams and support groups to share knowledge.

Desired skills and qualifications

• Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in the area of statistics, mathematics, computer science or an equivalent field of study.
• Basic understanding of data analysis and statistical concepts.

• Familiarity with Python (knowledge of libraries like pandas or matplotlib is a plus).

• Willingness to learn about data cleaning, feature engineering, and machine learning.

• Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of German is a plus.

• A proactive attitude and a desire to learn in a dynamic environment.
