The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is one of the 12 regional Reserve Banks that, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve System. Job Summary:
As Data Governance Specialist, you will analyze and translate data governance and data management requirements from the National Business Lines, and Reserve Banks into requirements and processes to ensure compliance, accountability, data quality, discover-ability and access. Creates, maintains, communicates, and implements data governance policies, processes, and procedures according to business needs. Documents and maintains data standards, partnering with data owners to map existing data structures, usage, and common definitions.
What You Will Do:
- Facilitate data access and sharing across the organization according to established data sharing frameworks. This includes working with data owners and partners to ensure that data is shared in a manner that is secure and complies with regulations and policies.
- Design and implement methodologies to track and measure compliance of data sharing agreements.
- Report on data sharing requests on an ongoing basis with a final yearly report distributed to executive partners.
- Facilitate and conduct the review of published papers using shared data to ensure compliance with terms of use agreements.
- Lead engagement with System data catalog teams for onboarding data to the catalog in collaboration with business and technology partners.
- Develop and conduct assessments to assess risks and compliance with enterprise data and analytics policies and standards; make recommendations for improvements and implement changes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Participate in establishment of governance for metadata management across the enterprise.
- Ensure integration of project logical data model into enterprise conceptual data model.
- Work with project teams to understand the business environment to manage enterprise-wide information/data support systems.
- Lead in-depth research and data analysis to identify data quality issues, data relations, and data dependencies to support business operations and presents findings to users and partners.
- Maintain and update information maps, retention schedules, and data catalog.
- Interpret and enforce activities to ensure target goals for data fidelity improvement and adherence with data governance policies.
- Help implement common data management practices across the organization.
- Administer defining and implementing policies, standards, roles, and responsibilities for managing data across an organization.
- Help to ensure data quality, security, compliance, and alignment with business and technical goals.
- Understanding of security, privacy, and quality requirements for critical data entities.
What You Have:
Knowledge:
- Proficiently express information through writing and speaking
- Presentation, diagramming, spreadsheet software and other office tools.
- Interpersonal interaction, collaboration, problem-solving and analytics.
- Work on multiple projects/issues/enhancements as a team leader.
- Work on complex enterprise-wide projects/issues/enhancements.
- Design logical enterprise-wide data models.
- Familiarity with data and analytics governance tools, e.g., Collibra.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred. In lieu of a degree, a combination education and substantial relevant work experience may be considered.
- Minimum 6 years relevant industry experience.
The salary-structure.pdf" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">salary grade for this position is: (Grade 15). Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, and skills, and internal equity and alignment with market data.
