Position Overview -  Director of Engineering 

As the Director of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our company. This multifaceted role combines technical proficiency with entrepreneurial spirit, as you work alongside other co-founders to build and manage the engineering team while driving the development of innovative products or services.

You will collaborate closely with our product team to create user experiences that cater to our clients and their end consumers. Your pivotal role will involve enhancing the value of our platform through the efficient development and delivery of product features. 

This role is a unique combination of technical expertise, leadership, and entrepreneurship, making it essential for driving the growth and success of an early-stage company. As a Co-Founder and Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to shape the company's technical direction, build a talented team, and contribute to its overall vision and success.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

The role entails dynamic involvement in strategy, partnership building, technical enhancements, and effective communication within the team of accomplished domain experts from ZenTrades' founding team.

Technical Strategy:

• Develop and execute the technical roadmap.

• Define the technical architecture and guide its evolution.

• Align technology vision with business objectives.

Team Management:

• Set clear goals and expectations for team members.

• Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.

• Participate in agile development processes.

Product Development:

• Oversee end-to-end development, from concept to deployment.

• Set development priorities and manage resources effectively.

• Ensure product quality and alignment with business goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate with product management, sales, marketing, and customer support.

• Ensure the product aligns with market needs and customer feedback.

Scalability and Reliability:

• Implement strategies for platform scalability while maintaining performance and reliability.

Innovation:

• Stay current with technology trends and integrate emerging technologies into our product.

Budget and Resource Management:

• Manage the engineering budget efficiently.

• Optimize costs while maintaining product quality.

You will fit right if you have:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science,  information systems, or equivalent)

• You have 6+ years of software development experience and are an engineer at heart

• Required skills and experience

  • Experience in building a scalable product

  • Hands-on technical leadership with proven ability to recruit high-performance talent

  • High technical credibility - the ability to audit technical decisions and push for the best solution to a problem

  • Experience building E2E Applications right from the backend database to the persistent layer

  • Experience UI technologies Angular, react.js, Node.js or full-stack environment will be preferred

  • Experience with NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j, Dynamodb, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of modern technology architecture

  • Should have a strong grasp of one of the following languages - (Javascript/Golang/Java/Python3). Javascript will be preferred

  • Good understanding of Cloud Services (AWS is preferred). 

  • Should have hands-on experience in setting up an infrastructure from scratch

  • Good System design skills considering scalability and fault-tolerant applications

• Successfully built and managed high-performance distributed team/s

• Experience in successfully delivering complex software products, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment

• A problem-solver attitude where you like to dive deep into a problem, diagnose root causes, and work with multiple teams to come up with a solution

• Ambitious to make an extra effort to go above and beyond the traditional growth paths    

• Strong ability to drive and encourage talent and performance 

• As an owner of the product you will be required to plan and execute the product roadmap and provide technical leadership to the engineering team

• Cross-team collaboration, you will have to collaborate with Product Management and Implementation teams and build a commercially successful product

• You will be responsible for recruiting & lead a team of highly skilled software engineers and providing strong hands-on engineering leadership

Note: You will be required to operate in the IST  time zone which is - 10:00 AM IST to 7:00 AM IST from Pune Location.
