Machine Learning Engineering Lead (LLM)

What experience should you have:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a data science, machine learning, and/or data engineering role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of statistical, mathematical, machine learning and deep learning concepts.
  • Experience designing, developing and validating Large Language Models (LLMs)  Solutions preferably using Python and tools like LangChain and vector databases.
  • Experience leveraging cloud computing environments (GCP preferred) and complex data flows in the context of data science or analytics projects, particularly those involving large datasets.
  • Experience leveraging data science collaboration and MLOps and Observability tools like Databricks, ML Flow, Weights and Biases, DVC, and/or equivalent with a preference for any experience with LLM experimentation, governance, serving, monitoring, etc…
  • Experience with LLM experimentation, governance, serving, and monitoring is preferred.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Partner with clients to prioritize business and information needs, articulate value proposition, and co-create requirements that will guide the design of AI solutions.
  • Consume the latest in applied research relating to the deployment and use of LLM-based solutions. Translate these findings into opportunities to build demos, enhance solutions, and create client-facing thought leadership.
  • Guide projects through appropriate data selection, governance, and risk management practices to ensure the alignment of AI-based models with desired outcomes.
  • Establish the tooling and processes to support ongoing monitoring of LLM-based solutions in production. 
  • Actively contribute to the development and improvement of LLMops practices within the organization.
  • Develop reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations of LLM solutions.
  • Clearly communicate complex machine learning concepts and results through multiple mediums to non-technical stakeholders.

What you'll need to accomplish in your first year:

  • Continue to grow knowledge of data science tools, platforms, and processes, with an emphasis on the latest in language and multi-modal modeling techniques and tools.
  • Contribute to Further’s internal innovation through rapid prototyping and building demos that highlight the power of LLM-based solutions.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, decision makers, and influencers - cultivating these relationships along the way.
