Data Analyst Lead

Our Work Management Analytics team is comprised of experienced data analysts who lead data transformation, modeling, visualization, and analysis efforts related to projects and initiatives taking place across Colorado Springs Utilities' four-service infrastructure (water, wastewater, gas, and electric). We are seeking a Lead Data Analyst to join our team as we expand analytics, digital transformation, and business process automation across the organization. Our team is involved in a wide variety of initiatives and we value the ability to develop solutions that provide business value by utilizing people, processes, and technology.

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets and preparing visuals to inform decision-making
  • Gather requirements and information from stakeholders to be able to pull, transform, model, and analyze data to achieve desired outcomes or address critical questions
  • Communicate  results from analyses to non-technical audiences in ways that ensure understanding
  • Ensure  compliance with data privacy and security regulations and best practices
  • Harvest and cleaning data to ensure the accuracy of results and information
  • Lead projects and influencing contributors to drive quality
  • Deliver high-value solutions with minimal supervision 
  • Mentor junior analysts and providing coaching and technical leadership

Who You Are...

  • Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform is highly desired
  • Relevant and progressively responsible experience with data visualization, modeling, transformation, analysis, and/or extraction
  • Experience with basic project management fundamentals (e.g., gathering requirements, scoping out work that needs to be performed, and delivering results)
  • Knowledge of and experience with database structures
  • Experience with iterative development processes
  • Experience with ETL principles and data architecture concepts
  • Ability to analyze complex business needs and create solutions that deliver value
