As a PhD intern in semantic communications at Nokia Bell Labs, you will play a crucial role in developing theoretical models and strategies for effective multi-agent networks. You will work alongside a team of experienced research scientists and engineers, collaborating to tackle the challenges of inter-agent coordination and control in multi-agent systems. Your work will focus on designing semantic or effective strategies to orchestrate agent transmissions, with an emphasis on goal-oriented decision-making. You will also use eXplainable AI (XAI) tools to analyze and provide insights into agent decision-making processes. The work environment at Nokia Bell Labs is dynamic and collaborative. You will have the opportunity to work closely with experts in the field, receiving guidance and support while also having the autonomy to work independently. The team values teamwork and encourages open communication and knowledge sharing.   • Develop theoretical models for collaborative multi-agent systems
  • Design semantic or effective strategies for agent transmissions
  • Address challenges of inter-agent coordination and control strategies
  • Leverage XAI tools to analyze and offer goal-oriented insights
  • Work independently under expert supervision
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced researchers and engineers
  • Apply machine learning fundamentals, including deep learning and reinforcement learning
  • Proficiency in programming languages and machine learning frameworks

     
  • Working on a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Strong theoretical expertise in dynamic processes, Markov decision processes, and optimization theories
  • Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including deep learning and reinforcement learning
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for AI/ML development, such as Python
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
