Description

The Data Integrations Developer I works alongside the Data Integrations team to ensure optimal system performance, focusing on ongoing optimization and tuning of the Credit Union’s data and applications environments. Responsible for developing reliable and complex ETL processes to support the development of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Marts, and other Data Analytics projects. Analyze and evaluate data sources and targets required for ETL mappings, ensuring efficient data integration, designing, developing, and implementing complex ETL processes, and supporting the organization's data environment.


 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Data Integrations team in addressing systems performance, including ongoing optimization and tuning of the Credit Union’s data and applications environments.
  • Develop reliable and complex ETL processes to support new development of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Marts, and other Data Analytics projects.
  • Partner with the Data Analytics team and business stakeholders to complete current Data Warehouse initiative projects.
  • Analyze and evaluate the data source and targets required for the ETL mapping.
  • Design, develop, and implement complex ETL processes.
  • Provides operational support for the Credit Union’s data environment, including but not limited to automation, job scheduling, dependencies, monitoring, maintenance, patches, upgrades, security, and administration.
  • Develop, integrate, and document libraries and frameworks that allow us to effectively scale development on our applications across multiple projects as standard services or components leveraged by multiple products within scope, cost, time, and quality constraints.
  • Build and track quality into an agile product lifecycle encompassing requirements, design, code, testing, delivery, and support.
  • Enable and write clear maintainable solutions that scale, adhere/improve/augment existing standards, working in a professional software engineering environment (source control, shortened release cycles, continuous integration, deployment, etc.).
  • Partner with business systems integrations to help develop user requirements translation to technical specifications.
  • Support our products, identify and fix root causes of production incidents, and troubleshoot and resolve production issues across teams.
  • Stay current with learning current trends in technology and mentor and guide junior engineers, data analysts, and interns.
  • Driver in continuous improvement processes through metrics and feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; at least five years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience working with complex IT infrastructures.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of development experience in complex data environments.
  • Financial Industry experience developing innovative ETL processes and tools preferred.
  • Experience with data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, databases, SQL, systems programming, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • 2+ years of development in Java, Python, or other object-oriented programming languages.
  • Industry experience integrating with 3rd party APIs preferred.
  • Understanding of MS SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, and SQL Server Analysis Services as well as application integrations leveraging SQL.
  • Demonstrated experience with Version Control Systems like Git/SVN.
  • Team player who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal team and external vendors.
  • Ability to manage time with strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively and proactively.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently.

 

Physical requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, use the computer and telephone to complete work, and lift up to 30 pounds at times.
