The Robotics Department at MBZUAI is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the research group of Prof. Abdalla Swikir. The position focuses on control and learning techniques for robot manipulation, blending theoretical research with practical implementation. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in robotics and AI in a vibrant and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct research in advanced control systems and learning algorithms for robotic manipulation.

Develop and implement novel methodologies for adaptive and precise manipulation tasks.

Validate research outcomes through experiments on state-of-the-art robotic platforms.

Collaborate with faculty, postdocs, and students on high-impact research projects.

Contribute to publications, conference presentations, and grant proposals.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in Robotics, Control Systems, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

Experience: Demonstrated expertise in robot manipulation, control theory, or machine learning.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C , or MATLAB.

Familiarity with robotic frameworks and tools like ROS, Gazebo, or similar.

Knowledge of reinforcement learning, model predictive control, or related techniques is a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
