Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Field Engineer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on onboarding customers from an infrastructure standpoint and delivering technical demos when needed. As a Field Engineer, you will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure seamless deployment, integration, and utilization of Qdrant’s technologies. You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between technical implementation and client success.
Tasks
Customer Onboarding:
- Guide clients through the deployment and configuration of Qdrant’s technologies on various cloud and on-premise infrastructures.
- Support customers in setting up scalable and secure environments tailored to their use cases.
Infrastructure Expertise:
- Assist with infrastructure design and optimization to ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of Qdrant solutions.
- Provide support for containerization, orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and cloud integrations.
Technical Demos & Proof of Concepts (PoCs):
- Conduct hands-on technical demonstrations to showcase the capabilities of Qdrant.
- Build and present proof-of-concept implementations that align with customer requirements.
Troubleshooting & Support:
- Diagnose and resolve technical challenges during the integration and deployment process.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex customer issues requiring engineering input.
Collaboration with Internal Teams:
- Work with the Cloud Engineering Team to incorporate feedback from customer interactions into product development.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide pre-sales technical guidance when necessary.
Requirements
Experience:
- 3+ years in a technical implementation, systems engineering, or similar role.
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python and / or GoLang.
- Familiarity with database technologies, including vector databases and search systems like Elasticsearch or Solr.
Preferred:
- Experience working with open-source technologies and contributing to them.
- Ability to script and automate infrastructure tasks.
Nice to Have:
- Background in AI or machine learning applications, such as recommendation systems or NLP.
