JOB DESCRIPTION:

In Abbott’s Electrophysiology division, we’re advancing the treatment of heart and vascular disease through breakthrough medical technologies in electrophysiology and heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. 

The Opportunity

This onsite position is within the Abbott Medical Devices Electrophysiology Division. As a Global Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and automating global sales reporting and analytical models to support the EP commercial organization. Your role will involve translating complex, abstract business questions into business models and tools that identify patterns and trends, provide actionable insights, and guide sales force behaviors.
 

You will also ensure that the data portfolio enhances organizational strategy and global sales operations management through the successful, consistent, and predictable delivery of programs, projects, and applications.
This position will be located in Maple Grove, MN or Austin, TX. 
 

What You’ll Do:

Data Visualization and Reporting

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports using data visualization tools to effectively communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Address ad-hoc data requests and conduct special analyses to support strategic decision making.
     

Data Analysis and Insights

  • Analyze data and trends proactively to provide insights and recommendations that drive business strategies.
  • Perform quantitative analysis and utilize data modeling techniques to generate insights, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Identify new opportunities to integrate data and information into the organization to create a competitive advantage.
  • Identify opportunities for predictive and prescriptive analytics to improve Sales Force performance.
     

Advanced Concepts and Continuous Learning

  • Stay current with the latest developments in data science and machine learning to enhance data analysis methodologies and techniques.
  • Utilize advanced concepts such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
     

Communication and Training

  • Translate business needs and goals into analytical approaches and solutions, clearly articulating findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Provide training and support to team members and business partners to enhance data literacy.
     

Data Alignment and Quality

  • Collaborate with the Global Business Intelligence team and business units to establish and maintain relevant data definitions, KPIs, and other critical metrics.
  • Ensure the quality of master data in key systems and develop processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
  • Work closely with business and IT teams to ensure alignment of master data rules and application operations with all requirements.
     

Data Strategy and Governance

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and data stewards to define and implement data strategies, policies, controls, and programs to ensure enterprise data is accurate, complete, and reliable.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information science, data management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Microsoft Power BI experience.
  • 1-2 years working experience of strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Related work experience and knowledge of ETL, data warehouse, and business intelligence tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office using Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Databricks, QuickSight, Power BI)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in newly forming, ambiguous areas where learning and adaptability are key skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intellectually rigorous, analytical, and curious.
  • Dynamic, motivated, resourceful, and results-oriented creative thinker and problem solver.

Preferred:

  • Experience with SQL, data transformation and analysis tools. (ie Python, R)
  • Experience with Power Apps, including integration with Power BI.
  • Experience with AI/ML tool creation.

The base pay for this position is

$64,000.00 – $128,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
