About Us

At ANZ, we're applying new ways technology and data can be harnessed as we work towards a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

As a Data Analyst, you’ll be joining a multidisciplinary team that is working on the implementation of APS 112 and APS 113 Capital Reform within the Institutional Division. This is a key role within the Institutional Capital Reform Program (ICRP) that will support business owners, provide timely analysis, and ensure the smooth execution on regular reporting processes.

Our talented team in ICRP leverages data, analytics and reporting to formulate insights and work with project and business stakeholders to develop solutions compliant with APS 112 and APS 113 changes.

Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.

Role Type: 12 month opportunity
Role Location: Melbourne
Work Hours: Full time

What will your day look like?

The Institutional Capital Reforms Program (ICRP) was established to ensure the Institutional Division complies globally with APRA’s revised Credit Risk RWA standards - specifically changes to APS 113, and the introduction of APS112.

This includes realising and sustaining cumulative RWA benefits by delivering strategic solutions that are scalable, automated, and are part of an effective control environment ecosystem.

As a Data Analyst, you will:

  • Source, organise and manage data from different institutional and risk systems.
  • Engage business and system stakeholders.
  • Execute regular reporting and liaise with the broader team.
  • Support project business analyst to elicit system requirements, document logic and test new/updated data elements required for capital calculation.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Previous Data Analyst experience.
  • Knowledge of Institutional systems, products and processes is highly desirable
  • Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the APRA prudential standards (e.g. APS112, APS113) would be an advantage but not necessary.
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience with tools and techniques for analysis, data manipulation and presentation (e.g. SAS, SQL, Tableau, VBA, QlikSense)
  • Data visualisation skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and good working knowledge of other Microsoft and Atlassian products.

You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.

So why join us?
