About the position:

E Ink is seeking a passionate and skilled Deep Learning Engineer to join our innovative deep learning team. In this role, you will develop and optimize modeling techniques and display driving methods for electrophoretic display systems. You will leverage your expertise in deep learning to create advanced tools and systems, enhance display performance, and contribute to the development of new products. Collaborating with cross-functional teams across global sites, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and achieving organizational goals. E Ink maintains a lean team where each member has strong visibility and responsibility to meet company goals. Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement tools and systems to integrate deep learning models for electrophoretic display applications.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of model performance, architecture, and display system behavior to inform product development.
  • Develop and refine novel optimization algorithms to enhance model performance and execution speed.
  • Create software solutions to improve display performance using deep learning models.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally to meet aggressive project timelines and deliverables.
  • Conduct mathematical analyses, data mining, and system modeling to solve complex engineering challenges.
  • Evaluate and optimize recurrent neural networks (LSTM, GRU, etc.) for specific applications.
  • Support product development through signal processing, systems theory, and statistical modeling.
  • Utilize electronic devices and laboratory equipment for performance validation and testing when needed.

 

Qualifications:

  •  B.S. degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, Computer Science or related signals & systems field plus at least three years of industrial experience, or M.S./Ph.D. degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, Computer Science or related signals & systems field plus zero to three years of industrial experience.
  •  Proficiency in deep learning optimization cycles, especially recurrent neural networks (e.g., LSTM, GRU).
  •  Strong expertise in one or more areas: optimization, signal processing, systems theory, statistical modeling, system identification, or machine learning.
  •  Programming experience required: strong preference for proficiency with MATLAB and Python and familiarity with object oriented programming concepts.
  •  Experience with electronic devices and laboratory tools such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generators is a plus.
  •  Motivated, self-driven, and introspective problem solver with strong troubleshooting and improvement-oriented mindset.
  •  Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  •  Flexible and eager to collaborate across diverse teams.

Benefits:

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $130k-$170k for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
