Do you want to have fun writing cloud services to protect Microsoft and its customers from malware and phishing attacks? Do you enjoy creating new services with thoughtfully designed, scalable, and robust APIs to protect customers? Sonar team develops several highly scalable, delightfully parallel, highly distributed cloud services with global presence in multiple geos and clouds (public, Gov and Air gapped clouds), and is responsible for the static and dynamic analysis of content (e.g. documents, emails, executables, URLs) to find potentially malicious intent. Our detonation platform has strict SLAs for latency & accuracy and serves as the detonation platform of choice for Office 365, Windows Defender ATP and MCAS; LinkedIn; Azure Sentinel; Office Forms. Our service provides malware as well as phishing protection based on combination of dynamic analysis as well as ML models. This Senior Software Engineering Manager role represents an opportunity to operate on a massive scale and provide sandbox analysis to various businesses in Microsoft like Office 365, Windows Defender ATP, while also building and supporting new businesses and business growth across the company. You will have the opportunity to influence the roadmap of new and existing features in sandbox analysis platforms. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager who can bring the best out of a very talented group of passionate people. This role requires the leader to be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, making decisions, leading from the front, and building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Be the leader of a highly performing, talented group of engineers and foster a diverse, inclusive, and result driven team culture. 
• Model, coach, and care for employees and peers, helping everyone to bring their best self to work and enable their career growth.
• Develop and execute the strategy and plan for continued improvement in how we deliver ongoing protections and innovations into Detonation platform. 
• Collaborate with leaders from product engineering, security services, and other business units to ensure a shared sense of success.
• Adhere to and drive modern software engineering practices through design and code reviews
• Be Responsible for engineering deliverables impacting Detonation analysis platform

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline and 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python  OR equivalent experience
• 5+ years of software design and development experience
• Experience in managing highly complex, large scale software engineering projects 
• Demonstrated experience in collaborating with geographically distributed partner teams 
• Professional experience building, shipping and maintaining cloud services on Azure, AWS, Google Cloud or similar

Other Requirements

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
• Design, development and deployment of highly maintainable backend distributed systems/services and APIs
• 2+ years people management experience.
