About the Role

The Data Warehouse Developer, a Sr. Consultant in our Digital Health Division, will develop and implement data warehouse solutions. The role will be working as a team and independently on external client-facing projects, and internal strategic projects. They will meet with customers to understand their data needs and develop solutions that involve ETL pipelines, custom Databases, Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and Data Lakes. They must be able to learn and keep up with rapidly changing technology. They must exhibit proficiency in Database and ETL design concepts, as well as work with a team of other engineers, IT professionals, and key business stakeholders. They must be able to do custom development, integrate older tools and technologies, and continuously build their skills. They must be able to research and analyze existing programs and prepare documentation for work assignments. Contribute to regular quality assurance activities such as peer review.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in discovery discussions with clients to determine use cases and develop solutions
  • Functions as a primary contributor in designing, coding, testing, and debugging data elements in the existing and/or new data models
  • Database design, modeling, and optimization as it relates to relational databases and data warehouses
  • ETL design, development, and implementation with a seamless data flow
  • Understands and evaluates business requirements and translates them into specific technology solutions
  • Ability to excel in the rapidly evolving healthcare industry and data warehouse field
  • Design, develop, test ,and implement data warehouse systems for BI reporting and analysis
  • Direct validation of existing data warehouse for data integrity, quality,y and accuracy
  • Recommends innovative solutions that support business transformation through technology
  • Establish target architectures for process, solution, and information needs as they align with current and future business strategies
  • Leading technical design sessions with data warehouse teams to produce detailed design specifications to ensure that architecture standards are followed 
  • Staying abreast of the latest technology, regulations, and news relating to the Data Platform, tools, and industry trends

Required Skills and Experience

  • Requires a high level of analytical and creative skills, along with an in-depth knowledge of database development, design, and modeling concepts
  • Expert-level knowledge of industry data warehousing concepts like the Kimbal Methodology or Data Vaults
  • Strong understanding of master data management, and data lineage techniques
  • Proven ability to perform data discovery activities on vendor-supplied, and custom-made databases 
  • 5+ years of experience in leading the development of Data Warehouses, Data Marts, or Cubes. Especially in Data Warehouses that are sourced from multiple disparate source systems
  • 5+ years of experience in working with traditional on-prem database systems like Oracle, SQL Server, Green Plum, Netezza, etc.
  • 5+ Years of strong T-SQL development experience
  • 5+ Years of experience working in an Enterprise setting
  • Proficiency in working with JSON, XML, XQuery, XPath, XSD, and flat files of varying types
  • Strong experience in developing ETL solutions
  • Experience in working with, and developing Metadata drive ETL design patterns
  • Experience working ETL load patterns for large-scale Enterprise Data Warehouse
  • Experience working with the integration large datasets from on-prem to cloud resources
  • Experience in Data Lake Development and Data Lake Zones methodology
  • Experience with Data Lake technologies like Spark, and PySpark
  • Experience with CI/CD toolset (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience working GIT (GitHub, Azure DevOps)
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in data engineering in Python and PySpark
  • Working knowledge of Spark
  • Familiar with DataBricks
  • Familiar with other Cloud data platforms like SnowFlake, and AWS RedShift
  • Familiar with other common ETL tools like Talend, Matillion, Fivetran, DBT, etc
  • Healthcare experience is a plus
