About TikTok U.S. Data Security
TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video. Our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. U.S. Data Security (“USDS”) is a subsidiary of TikTok in the U.S. This new, security-first division was created to bring heightened focus and governance to our data protection policies and content assurance protocols to keep U.S. users safe. Our focus is on providing oversight and protection of the TikTok platform and U.S. user data, so millions of Americans can continue turning to TikTok to learn something new, earn a living, express themselves creatively, or be entertained. The teams within USDS that deliver on this commitment daily span across Trust & Safety, Security & Privacy, Engineering, User & Product Ops, Corporate Functions and more.

About the Team
Our User Operations team is focused on bringing a world-class experience to our users. We're looking for a self-motivated data scientist to lead in deepening our understanding of our users' experience through the feedback they provide us and the way they interact with our platform. You will be responsible for creating processes and reporting to highlight learnings around users' general engagement with TikTok as well as feature-specific interactions. Your work will play a guiding role in shaping decision-making around product iteration and how we communicate with our users. If large data sets excite you, you have a track record of creating narratives that drive action and you thrive in working through ambiguity, this is the role for you.

In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.

- Develop expertise in the USDS data to build and own relevant pipelines/ETLs.
- Own data integrity, availability, transformation logic, and efficient data access to support the growing needs of the organization.
- Identify gaps in existing data, create data product specs, and work with data warehouse teams to implement data tracking.
- Incorporate automation wherever possible to improve data pipelines and analyses.
- Build and maintain documentation to ensure data accessibility
- Be our go-to data expert and have a deep understanding of our data warehouse and data processing layers.
- Be a primary point of contact for ad hoc data requests and reporting
