Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Business Intelligence & Data Engineering Manager to join our growing team! In this role, you will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of data engineering and business intelligence efforts. You will enable informed decision-making through accessible and actionable data insights. You will also foster a collaborative environment where data is valued and utilized across all business units. In this position, you will contribute to the development of a robust data culture within the organization. You will also support support the Director in establishing performance metrics to evaluate data initiatives.

As a Senior Business Intelligence & Data Engineering Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Gather and translate business requirements into actionable specifications for data warehouse solutions
  • Research and assess data sources, identifying any limitations in reliability, accuracy, and usability
  • Design technical systems and business data models to align solutions with organizational needs
  • Analyze workflows, access protocols, and data behaviors to optimize utilization and insights
  • Champion initiatives for data quality, integrity, and standardization to ensure consistent, reliable insights
  • Facilitate user testing and ensure thorough documentation of data processes.
  • Conduct and oversee user acceptance testing to validate functionality and requirements
  • Lead the design and implementation of dashboards and reporting solutions for real-time business decisions
  • Assemble large, complex data sets and maintain optimized data pipelines to support proof-of-concept projects
  • Automate workflows, optimize data delivery, and enhance ETL, data integration, and infrastructure for scalability and performance
  • Develop and maintain aggregated data views and dashboards for business reporting
  • Track IT project deliverables, ensuring alignment with timelines and goals
  • Promote initiatives that democratize data access and usage organization-wide
  • Monitor team performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals and best practices

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Statistics, or related disciplines
  • 7+ years of experience in business intelligence or data engineering
  • Skilled in gathering user requirements and facilitating user testing and documentation
  • Enthusiastic about data democratization and empowering teams to leverage data effectively
  • Possess strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset, with the ability to provide actionable insights
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, fostering collaboration among diverse teams
  • Extensive experience with SQL, data architecture and design, ETL tools (Informatica/Alteryx), and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)

  • Experience in the telecommunications industry
  • Advanced degrees or certificates
