Salary – $120,859,032.00- $133,183.00 PA, Plus Employers Contribution to Superannuation and Leave Loading
Your role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data and Analytics Unit within the Courts, Tribunals and Services Delivery division. You will perform a range of advanced data engineering functions within the division for the achievement of business objectives and strategic goals.
This is a hands-on role that requires significant technical expertise to ingest, transform, store, and manage data from multiple source systems to enable reporting and analysis. The role will also lead process simplification work for efficiency improvements.
You will work closely with other business units and must have the ability to communicate effectively and tailor clear and concise communication to the audience.
About you
We are looking for someone who has an extensive background in software and data engineering and relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated currency of knowledge in the areas of data products.
What you’ll do
- Provides expert advice to stakeholders, recommending and implementing ways to improve data efficiency and reliability, ensuring associated risks with deployment are documented and understood.
- Uses agreed standards and tools to design, develop, test, correct and document moderate to complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications and subsequent iterations to meet service delivery outcomes.
- Make complex and technical information and language simple and accessible for non-technical audiences, facilitating difficult discussions within the team or with diverse senior stakeholders and assisting with management of collaborative processes across the organisation to support the delivery of services to stakeholders and clients.
- Monitor data quality and take appropriate action for the remediation of data quality issues detected.
- Prepare written communications such as emails, minutes, briefs and technical documents to maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and to facilitate better understanding of data and its use in decision making.
What we’re looking for
- The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated relevant equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience in contemporary analytics tools (Oracle, Tableau, Alteryx preferable)
- Experience in programming languages (SQL preferable)
- Experience in writing architectural documentation
- Understanding of processes to identify data quality issues
