Speech and Acoustics Team Lead

We are currently looking for a Speech and Acoustics Team Lead to join our Tel-Aviv office. 

In this role, you will apply deep learning and advanced NLP techniques to develop AI-based products and features such advanced speech to text technique, acoustic and speaker identification, topic extraction, sentiment analysis, audio description and more.   

Responsibilities:  

• Lead a team of researchers, facilitate and support team member’s technical and career growth objectives through training, leadership opportunities, challenging work assignments, and focused mentorship 
• Define research problems based on product needs 
• Project manage the teams; delivery to a successful release by tracking work, dependencies, and risks and taking corrective actions as necessary 
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Architects and external partners to build products our customers would love to use on a daily basis 
• Explore existing approaches to research problems as well as develop new ones 
• Conduct end-to-end data-driven research and development supporting Verbit’s natural language analytics offering for different verticals 

The Ideal Candidate: 

• M.Sc./Ph.D. in Machine Learning and Speech or any equivalent applied research experience 
• Good understanding of DNNs and experience with PyTorch/TF/other platforms 
• 5+ years experience in applied research up to production code level  
• 2+ years of experience as a team leader in a fast-paced work environment 
• Hands-on experience with ASR tools such as transformers, BERT, GPT, etc’ – a great advantage 
• Great interpersonal skills and a team player! 
• Fluent in written and spoken English
