Global Manager of Data and Insights

Job Summary:

The Global Manager of Data and Insights will be in charge of collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to inform strategic decisions and drive gateretail business growth. This position requires a combination of analytical skills and business expertise, as the manager will collaborate closely with stakeholders throughout the organisation to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data strategies that are consistent with organisational goals.
• Collect, clean, and analyse large datasets from a variety of sources to extract meaningful insights.
• Identify trends and patterns in complex data sets, providing insights to support business decisions.
• To effectively communicate findings to stakeholders, create and present data visualisations, reports, and dashboards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key performance indicators and metrics to monitor business performance.
• Oversee data governance, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the organisation.
• Provide teams with training and support to help them adopt a culture of data-driven decision-making.
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices in data analytics and business intelligence.
• Manage a the data and insights team, offering guidance and mentoring.
• Developed and enhanced gateretail Power BI dashboards.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's preferred.
• Proven experience with Power Bi and Power Query.
• Project management experience.
• Experience with machine learning and big data tools, is a plus.

Work Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and visualization software (e.g., Power BI).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present data findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience leading and managing a team is a plus.
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance requirements.

Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)

• Data Analysis Skills:
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and interpretation.
  • Experience with data manipulation and cleaning techniques.
• Project Management Tools:
  • Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools for managing data projects and cross-functional teams.
• Data Visualization:
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI to create intuitive dashboards and reports.
• Programming Languages:
  • knowledge of programming languages for data analysis and modelling is a plus.

• Strong people management skills, able to influence and drive change.
• Able to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, solve problems, make recommendations, and draw valid conclusions in a timely and accurate manner.

• Must demonstrate sound judgment and reasoning skills. Analytical mind-set.
• Systems orientated individual.
• Driven character / self-motivated with a team spirit. 

Language / Communication Skills:

• Ability to communicate, negotiate and mediate inside the organization.
• Strong influencing skills across a wide variety of cultures
• Fluency in English. Other languages a plus.
