The Position

Work at the forefront of pharmaceutical innovation! We're seeking an ambitious Post Doc to become part of our Pharmaceutical Development Unit.   Utilize your experience in scientific computing and protein simulations to advance protein therapeutics, focusing on predictive formulation development and novel bioinformatics approaches. In addition, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality data and maintaining our comprehensive suite of tools and software. Your expertise is key to our success!   This Position is limited for 2 years.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role you will identify, evaluate, and implement structural modeling and bioinformatics concepts for protein therapeutics at the interface of research and development. 
  • You will enable predictive formulation development using our molecular modeling toolbox, focusing primarily on molecular dynamics simulations. 
  • Furthermore, you will develop and apply novel bioinformatics approaches to support development work packages of biotherapeutics according to project goals, schedules, and costs. 
  • You will ensure the provision of high-quality data, presentations, and reports, including external, peer-reviewed publications.
  • Moreover, you will liaise with IT and maintain the currently available toolbox of tools and software.
  • Not least, you will ensure excellent communication with stakeholders such as the project team and line management, interfaces including Research and Analytical Development, as well as externally with third parties or universities.
 

Requirements

  • PhD in bioinformatics, biophysics, chemistry, or a related field
  • Experience in scientific computing and protein simulation using molecular modeling software such as MOE, Schrodinger, NAMD, Gromacs and/or others
  • Profound coding and data handling / management skills like python, R or GIT; experience in the field of data science (statistics), data engineering (data pipelines) and machine learning is a plus
  • Familiarity with protein structure-property relationships and formulation development is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills, the ability to respond to changing priorities, and the ability to identify problems and work towards solutions
  • Very good communication skills as well as sound technical writing and documentation competencies in English, German is a plus
