WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transportation Planner or Data Analyst in our Lincoln or Omaha, NE offices. The successful candidate must be a team player and a self-starter, demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and technical skills, appreciate a diverse array of project work over time, and have a demonstrated working knowledge of transportation planning and/or data issues. This position will work closely with engineering, planning, environmental, advisory services, and transportation staff across WSPs central region to research, analyze, document and present information related to various types of planning and engineering projects.

Your Impact

  • Conducts detailed assignments and projects in support of Vision Zero/Safe Streets for All (SS4A) initiatives, active mobility studies, corridor improvement plans, and transportation planning projects.
  • Helps complete tasks related to complete streets or planning studies such as needs assessments, feasibility studies, master plans and impact assessments.
  • Analyzes project task needs, changes and enhancements and makes recommendations.
  • Develops statistical performance measures.
  • Prepares briefings, and presentations.
  • Stays abreast of industry changes and requirements, polices, procedures, and legislation.
  • Research environmental, economic, demographic, fiscal, legal and/or technical variables for specific projects.
  • Collecting, analyzing and interpreting analytic and written data (i.e. transportation, safety/crash, transit, land use, freight, economic, demographic, fiscal, legal, natural resources, etc.)
  • Composing correspondence, technical writing and report preparation
  • Participating and coordinating public and stakeholder public meetings and public participation/outreach processes.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Data Science, or related field of study
  • Experience with MS Office suite and ArcGIS
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Experience in statistical models and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience within the engineering consulting industry is preferred.
