JOB SUMMARY   The Data Governance Manager leads company-wide data governance efforts, ensuring the quality and protection of sensitive data and information assets. The incumbent will establish, implement, and ensure adherence to an enterprise data governance framework, including policies, standards, and best practices across departments and overall business functions. The position focuses on achieving consistent, high-quality data management to meet business needs. As a key point of escalation, the Data Governance Manager collaborates with leadership to address data governance, quality, and protection issues, while supporting compliance with regulatory requirements and the department's strategic goals.   JOB DUTIES
  • Establish, implement, and govern an enterprise data governance roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities
  • Roll out an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a focus on the improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools, and data architecture
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for the stewardship of the company’s principal information assets
  • Work with business, functional, and technology areas to ensure data-related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated, understood, and implemented into operational prioritization and planning
  • Develop and maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems and owners
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards, and adoption requirements across the enterprise
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
  • In conjunction with the IT department, provide progress reports and oversee periodic updates to the data governance roadmap
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management, STEM, or comparable experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a data governance role, with data or project management and oversight experience
  • Knowledge of industry-leading data quality and data protection management practices
  • Employees must provide their own reliable internet if working a remote/hybrid position
The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds.
