The OpportunityOur client is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join their team in building an innovative Carbon Planning platform that helps global enterprises power emissions reduction. This platform serves some of the world's most recognizable companies, representing over $4T in market value, helping them reduce risks, save costs, protect revenues, and manage emissions aligned with business objectives and sustainability goals.
 What you'll be doingSource Data Validation:
  • Perform validation of source data to ensure data integrity, completeness, and accuracy
  • Collaborate with data providers to address discrepancies
  • Document and resolve data quality issues, inconsistencies, and gaps
ETL and Data Pipeline QA:
  • Validate ETL processes to ensure accurate data transformations and loading
  • Design and execute test plans to verify business rules implementation
Performance Testing:
  • Conduct performance testing for efficiency and scalability
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks to optimize system performance
  • Ensure data pipelines, databases, and reports meet performance standards
Functional and Reporting QA:
  • Conduct functional testing of implemented features
  • Verify data reports accuracy and alignment with business requirements
  • Develop automated test scripts for validation, ETL processes, and reporting

Your qualifications and experienceMust haves
  • 3+ years of experience in coding languages (Python, Javascript, or similar)
  • Strong proven experience in data quality assurance and testing
  • Expertise in performance testing methodologies and tools
  • Strong knowledge of database systems, ETL processes, and reporting tools
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with data query tools
  • Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.)
  • Proficiency with our tech stack:
    • AWS
    • Databases: RDS / Dynamo / PostgreSQL / Aurora / ClickHouse
    • ETL: Apache Airflow / DBT
    • Software: TypeScript / ReactJs / Next.js / Node.js
    • Reporting: Tableau Cloud

Nice-to-haves
  • Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Knowledge of carbon emissions and sustainability metrics
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks
  • Experience with data governance and compliance
