As a Senior Data Scientist in the Bing Metrics & Evaluation team, you will be tasked with evaluating the quality of our products and metrics, build data pipelines in Python and C#, prepare dashboards to allow others to view your metrics and support teams to debug and review the metrics you create. This role in not a flexible work opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Understand where to acquire the data necessary for the project plan and use querying, visualization, and reporting techniques to describe that data. Also explore data for key attributes and collaborate with others to perform data science experiments using established methodologies.
  • Understand modeling techniques, select the correct tool and approach to complete objectives, and evaluate the output for statistical and business significance. Analyze model performance and incorporate customer feedback into its evaluation.
  • Understand the current state of the industry, including current trends, so that you can contribute to thought leadership best practices. Write efficient code for a specific feature, and develop a working expertise of proper debugging techniques.
  • Understand each customer’s business goals and learn best practices for identifying growth opportunities. Examine projects through a customer-oriented focus, and manage customer expectations regarding project progress.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
    • OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in coding and familiarilty with at least one Objective Oriented Programming language, including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Experience in SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in either online or offline metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to be productive and effective in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Experience with design, problem solving, and data analysis skills, with demonstrated passion for quality, performance, and engineering excellence.

Data Science IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
