You work as a technical expert, supporting telco vendors and telecommunications providers on the operation and deployment using automation based on CICD methods and infra as code principles. The deployments focus on cloud infra technologies, or NT (Network Technology) applications and services (voice, messaging, data, …) on to private cloud infrastructure at scale. In this role, you work in a multicultural, international environment with experts from many different areas.

A BIT ABOUT YOU

You must have studied technical degree. You should also have excellent English language skills and at least 1-2 years of experience in the industry. Additionally, you should know several of the areas listed below:

•     Bachelor / Master Degree in Computer Science, Telecomunication Engineering, Information Systems or related field
•     Linux system knowledge
•     Networking skills and experience (DC Network & VPN fabric)
•     SRE and DevOps environments
•     IT operations methodologies and processes like incident management, problem management, configuration management and crisis management
•     Understanding of CICD principles

Key Performance Indicators / Key responsibilities and deliverables:

•     Build and 2nd line of operations of IP backbone network and data center undelay networks.
•     Take part in Operations of network functions for provisioning and assurance.
•     Supporting the team ensuring Infrastructure availability with all its attributes (performance, cost, capacity, reliability).
•     Take part on the coordination among multiple development groups and close collaboration with infrastructure teams, SOC, NatCos and 3rd party providers

Detailed job description, responsibilities:

•     Support implementation and testing of HW/ SW components for the Cloud Services backbone and datacentre networks (Layer 2&3 networks interconnects Cloud Services datacenters & cloud instances inside Cloud Services as well as external partner/client networks).
•     Support integration of new technologies (HW/ SW), definition of upgrade strategies for HW/SW and lifecycle plans for the networks.
•     Preparation of vendor specific configuration templates
•     Utilize the network monitoring metrics and KPIs and track the performance of systems; provide the collected statistics to support network dimensioning and capacity planning.
•     Use network automation and network monitoring/telemetry products (methodologies & technologies such as git, CI/CD, pipeline, network abstraction, Network as Code, etc.)
•     Participate on solving and eliminating of ops issues – perform 2nd level support (rotating on-call duty required)
•     Responsible for preparation of the technical documentation through the lifecycle of networks, e.g., root cause analysis, incident resolution, etc.

Professional knowledge, skills, know-how in the field & experience in the field:

•     More than two years’ experience in area of network platforms operations, competence in carrier grade backbone / datacenter network engineering.
•     Operational experience in networks’ trouble shooting and root cause analysis

Hard skills:

Networking skills:

    Layer 2 & 3 networks (e.g., IPv6, BGP, ISIS/OSPF, QoS, multicast, V/VXLAN, EVPN, etc.);

•     Knowledge of carrier grade / data center network hardware, routing, switching, network security and telecommunication circuits from major vendors, in particular Juniper, Cisco or Huawei;
•     Experience on Linux networking, container networking and cloud networking;
•     Knowledge on model driven network programmability

Platform skills:

•     Linux knowledge / container fundamentals;
•     Cloud fundamentals (e.g., Openstack, SDN, Kubernetes).
•     Prometheus
•     Gitlab
•     Artifactory

Programming Skills (Nice to have):

•     Data Formats (e.g., JSON, YAML, etc);
•     Python and APIs (e.g., REST, NETCONF, etc);
•     Shell scripts
•     Source Control (e.g., git, GitLab, etc) ;
•     Configuration Management (e.g., Ansible, etc)
•     CCNA or equivalent certification preferred
