Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Enterprise Data Architect with a strong background in architecture design, data modeling, and data governance. This role will focus on defining and implementing a secure and scalable data architecture framework that aligns with cybersecurity goals and organizational strategies. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical implementations, ensuring data integrity, privacy, and compliance across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Architecture Design:
- Define and develop the overall enterprise data architecture strategy, aligning it with cybersecurity principles and organizational objectives.
- Design and implement secure data pipelines and storage solutions for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of the enterprise data ecosystem.
2. Data Modeling:
- Develop and maintain logical, physical, and conceptual data models to support various business use cases.
- Optimize data models for efficient querying, reporting, and integration across platforms.
- Collaborate with application and analytics teams to ensure data models meet functional and non-functional requirements.
3. Data Governance:
- Establish and enforce data governance policies, including data ownership, data classification, and lifecycle management.
- Define and implement data access controls to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
- Develop and maintain metadata management solutions to provide transparency across the data lifecycle.
4. Cybersecurity Integration:
- Work closely with cybersecurity teams to design and implement controls for data protection, encryption, and secure data sharing.
- Ensure that data architecture adheres to organizational security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities in data systems.
5. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with business units, IT, and data engineering teams to align data architecture with business needs.
- Provide guidance on best practices for secure data handling and usage.
- Act as a subject matter expert for enterprise data architecture during audits and security reviews.
6. Emerging Technology and Trends:
- Stay updated on the latest trends in data architecture, data governance, and cybersecurity.
- Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to enhance the enterprise data architecture framework.
- Drive innovation in data architecture to support digital transformation initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture, with a focus on data modeling and data governance.
- Hands-on experience designing secure data architectures in enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise in working with large-scale, complex datasets in cloud and on-premise environments.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, Toad Data Modeler, or similar).
- Experience with data governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related data services (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, NIST).
- Strong understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and big data frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
Certifications (Preferred):
- TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework).
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent.
- Cloud certifications like AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, Azure Data Engineer Associate.
Key Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to balance technical depth with strategic vision in architecture design.
- Strong understanding of data privacy and protection laws.
