Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d) Personalisation & Forecasting, Procurement Alliance

The role

You will join our cross-functional team of data scientists, data and backend engineers, together delivering Machine Learning models to production. Topics we work on range from menu personalization to demand forecasting. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and operating high-scale data processing pipelines to provide high quality data ready for consumption by our models. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to shape and optimize our ML pipelines. What you’ll do

• Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team of 8-10 data scientists and engineers, utilizing diverse technologies and frameworks
• Making data available for the team to be able to successfully develop and productionalize our ML models
• Take ownership of the end-to-end process, including architecture, design, development, deployment, and operations of data pipelines, applying DevOps practices, pair programming, and other cutting-edge methodologies 
• Actively contribute as a solution-oriented member within autonomous, cross-functional agile teams, collaborating with data scientists, data and backend engineers, ML engineers, and product managers.
• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of HelloFresh's core product and architecture, serving as an ambassador for software solutions and providing support and mentorship to colleagues
• Help shape and optimize our ML pipelines
• Work with state-of-the-art technologies like AWS (EMR, Glue, s3, etc), Kafka, PySpark, Kubernetes, Airflow, Prefect, Tecton, Databricks, as well as our in-house MLOPs and Data Pipeline tools

What you’ll bring

• Solid software engineering experience with the ability to design, implement, and deliver maintainable, high-quality code in Python 
• Hands-on experience with cloud computing and data processing technologies, including PySpark, Kubernetes, Kafka
• Expertise in data modeling, relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), and object stores (e.g., AWS S3)
• Proven expertise in making efficient and robust data pipelines, including optimizing their performance 
• Passion for data quality assurance, data monitoring
• Practical experience working with data for ML and working closely with data scientists
• Expertise in end-to-end development processes, including unit, integration & functional testing, application tuning/profiling, and continuous integration
• Bonus: ML engineering experience
