Job Description

You will be a member of the Symbio Global Infrastructure department, involved in delivering the systems, platforms, & infrastructure that underpin Symbio’s products globally.

As a Software Engineer in the Tools & Capabilities team, you will work on developing & enhancing systems to manage and monitor our infrastructure platforms, in particular focussing on projects ensuring we maintain the security & quality of our infrastructure and the customer facing products that it supports.

Help us modernize our tech stack as we develop & rollout new feature & capabilities, and as we improve efficiency, consistency, & quality through improvements to automation, observability, and our network operations processes.

Once onboarded, there is an expectation that this role will join the team’s after-hours support roster, which is rotated weekly for production critical platforms.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in a software engineering role within a Telco, ISP, or Enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency in Python, Node.js, and Go is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and InfluxDB.
  • Skilled in working with containerized workloads (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD tools, pipelines, and version control systems like GitLab.
  • Familiarity with automation tools, including Ansible, Puppet, and Terraform.
  • Experience or interest in machine learning (ML) and predictive modeling is highly valued.
  • Basic Linux system administration skills are a plus.
  • Exposure to systems, libraries, and technologies like Netbox, Napalm, Netconf, gRPC, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Understanding of data network concepts is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A curious, motivated self-learner who thrives both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
