Analytics Engineer

Department: Revenue Operations

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: United Kingdom

Reporting To: VP of Strategy + RevOps

Description

Hi 👋 I'm Freddie, VP of Strategy + RevOps.

We’re a high-growth, HR-tech start-up building and selling software that helps in-house recruitment teams attract, hire, and onboard the right talent. Today, we have a strong foundation in place, with a mature product, strong product-market fit, and happy customers.

Our RevOps team drives data operations at Pinpoint, wrangling data pipelines and models that power teams across the business. Over the past year, we’ve worked on internal and external product data to produce vital insights for the Customer Success team, assist in product decision-making, and inspire marketing content.

With our data responsibilities expanding and existing infrastructure requiring maintenance, we need someone to show us what “great” looks like—setting the standard for data at Pinpoint.

You’ll ensure our pipelines are scalable and robust, all while creating new ways to analyze our data and derive insights.

A few things to know before applying:
  • While we’re a highly technical RevOps function, you won’t have dedicated Data Architects, Engineers, or Analysts at your disposal. You’ll need to thrive with limited supporting resources, ready to get stuck in at all levels to get the job done.
  • Our values shape who we are and how we work. We're excited to meet candidates who share these principles and will bring them to life in their work.
  • This UK-based role is mostly remote, with in-person team meetups a few times per quarter. Our headquarters is in Jersey, UK, and we have a distributed remote team of 80 members spanning the UK and the U.S.

About the Role:

  • Sit at the crucial intersection of Customer Success, Product/Engineering, and RevOps to maintain and develop the flow of data into Hubspot and beyond, ensuring we have the data needed to drive customer campaigns, spot signs of churn risk, and identify upsell opportunities. You won’t just provide data—you’ll help us understand why it’s important and how to interpret it.
  • Own the pipeline between production and BigQuery, diagnosing and fixing issues to ensure optimum reliability.
  • Improve the data transformation pipeline (using DataForm for controlled changes and issue visibility).
  • Build a data dictionary and understand data locality (e.g., where to find details for specific features, required logic, etc.). Set design principles for the reporting layer, establishing standards for how we structure this data to ensure consistency.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to stay on top of changes and releases, translating them into the reporting layer. Participate in data design conversations during product development to ensure data capture and raw output are factored in
  • Act as the lead on our external RecTrends site. In addition to owning the pipeline behind it, you’ll manage regular updates and develop new data points and visualizations to showcase our product data. You’ll also help the team draw insights and interpret the data creatively.you
Tech Stack: GCP, Stitch, Hightouch, Hubspot

About You:

  • 3+ years commercial experience with data analysis and SQL, including data modeling (DBT/Dataform)
  • High proficiency with Google Cloud Platform and data tooling like Segment, Posthog, Stitch, Fivetran and Hightouch
  • Strong ability to architect scalable data solutions and combine data from multiple sources
  • Excellent communication skills - you can explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
  • Strategic mindset to prioritize high-impact work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record demonstrating our core values
  • Based in the UK with work authorization

What We Offer:

We’re committed to being an exceptional workplace and company you are proud to work for. To that end, we offer some great benefits, including:

  • A team that cares: You’ll be joining a team of intelligent, capable, and helpful people that want you to win, our clients to be wowed, and our business to grow
