As a business application consulting generalist at PwC, you will provide consulting services for a wide range of business applications. You will leverage a broad understanding of various software solutions to assist clients in optimising operational efficiency through analysis, implementation, training, and support.

Responsibilities:

 

• Data Modeling and Design:
  • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business needs.
  • Create data models for OLTP (transactional) and OLAP (analytical) systems.
  • Define and document data standards, guidelines, and best practices.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders:
  • Work with business analysts, data architects, and subject matter experts to gather requirements.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to implement data models.
• Data Architecture and Governance:
  • Ensure adherence to data governance standards and data security policies.
  • Participate in metadata management and ensure data lineage documentation.
• Performance Optimization:
  • Analyze and optimize data models for performance and scalability.
  • Implement indexing and partitioning strategies to enhance database performance.
  • Good understanding of Normalization and Denormalization in Relational Databases
• Data Integration:
  • Support ETL developers in data mapping and transformation processes.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of data flows across systems.
• Technical Leadership:
  • Mentor junior data modelers and provide technical guidance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies in data modeling and analytics.

Mandatory skill sets:

 

• Extensive experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or Power Designer.
• Strong understanding of relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data modeling techniques.
• Expertise in designing data solutions for both structured and unstructured data.
• Proficiency in SQL and database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake).
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.

Preferred skill sets:

 

Experience with cloud-based data solutions (Azure preferred).

11 to 14 years

Education qualification:

 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 11+ years of experience in data modeling, data architecture, or a similar role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
