As a Software Engineer Lead in the MaskTech Systems Team at Micron Technology, you will be at the forefront of developing custom software applications to facilitate the design and manufacturing of photo masks for semiconductor fabrication.  In this role, you will lead and coordinate the development and support of high-quality software solutions involving databases, automation, and data science analysis of large datasets.  You will also mentor a talented team of engineers and drive the successful execution of complex projects. Collaboration with other Micron engineers and managers worldwide, including groups such as Production Engineering, Design, Reticle Manufacturing, and Process Integration, will be essential.

Responsibilities include but not limited to

·       Software Development:

o   Design and develop software, scripts, APIs, and web-based interactive reporting tools utilized by internal groups.

o   Serve as a technical lead, contributing to and directing the efforts of team members.

o   Determine root causes for complex software issues and develop efficient, practical technical solutions.

o   Mentor software engineers to grow their skills and knowledge through coaching, advice, and training.

o   Demonstrated experience managing and leading large full-stack software projects.

o   Proficient in multiple back-end languages (e.g., Python, Perl, Java).

o   Proficient in multiple front-end languages (e.g., HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery).

o   Proficiency in SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) with demonstrated knowledge of large, relational databases and data structures.

o   Perform day-to-day operations, including monitoring and maintenance, problem investigation and resolution, backup creation and maintenance, database optimization, and tuning.

o   Experience with Linux command line tools and environment.

·       Ongoing Support:

o   Maintain and support current tools for our international MaskTech flow.

o   Address customer requests for improvements, support, and new tool development.

o   Build and maintain developer and user documentation.

o   Work closely with cross-functional teams and management.

·       Continuous Learning:

o   Keep abreast of new technology, development tools, and development techniques.

o   Analyze new tools for advantages over current tool sets.

·       Team Development and Performance Management:

o   Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging open communication and continuous improvement.

o   Create and implement training programs to support the professional growth of team members.

o   Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear goals, and provide constructive feedback to team members.

·       Leadership by Example:

o   Demonstrate strong leadership qualities by setting a high standard of work ethic, professionalism, and integrity.

o   Lead by example in adhering to company policies and promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.

Additional Qualifications:

·       Semiconductor industry experience preferred: Mask Tapeout flow, CAD, automation.

·       Global mindset and experience working with remote teams abroad.

·       Ability to effectively get along with a wide range of personalities.

·       Strong verbal and written communication skills.

·       Proven ability to collaborate well with team members and drive for results.

·       Excellent organizational and management skills and outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills.

·       Demonstrated ability to lead projects and others.

·       Ability to provide in-depth analysis and evaluation of complex technical issues.

·       Great attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

·       Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related course of study.

·       7 years of job-related experience.

·       7 years of experience as a software engineer.
