Join the Payments Data & Analytics' Merchant Services Cost Insights team at JPMorgan Chase, where we leverage data science, research, and business acumen to promote client-focused innovation. Apply your technical skills to projects involving cost-based analytics and cutting-edge generative AI applications, creating impactful solutions for Chase Merchant Services clients. Our team supports both internal Payment Insights and external Digital Merchant Insights applications, as well as custom client analytics requests on an ad hoc basis. We deliver the base data and cost intelligence models used for cost of payments insights. Utilizing Snowflake, Python, and Tableau, we develop data pipelines and dashboards, prototype new analytic capabilities and features, and maintain the quality and integrity of our intelligent solutions.

As a Data Scientist Analyst in our Merchant Services Cost Insights team, you will be delivering excellence at the intersection of data science, research, and business domain expertise. You will have the opportunity to work on projects that focus on cost-based analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, and visualization. By combining your technical skills and understanding of the business context, you will collaboratively develop end-to-end solutions with commercial, real-world impact on our clients and customers.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Create innovative solutions that make a difference for our customers, clients, and employees.
  • Collaborate with experienced data scientists and peer analysts to develop new cost-based analytics and AI applications.
  • Work on agile teams to support data-driven decision-making and client relationship management.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or a related field.
  • 1+ yr of experience in Python and SQL for data processing and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in data analysis, data science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake for data management and analysis.
  • Understanding of quality assurance practices and the importance of data integrity.
  • Knowledge of machine learning/data science theory, techniques, and tools.
  • Awareness of big data and distributed computing concepts (e.g. MapReduce).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present findings in an understandable manner to a non-technical audience.
