The opportunity

This Senior Data Integration Engineer role is in the Group Functions Technology Actuarial and Reinsurance Data and Systems team.

The ideal candidate will join a team of data integration professionals. They will understand and meet business needs by using standard methodologies for creating and governing efficient, robust, and scalable data integration processes and solutions.

Responsibilities 

  • Participate in highly complex, multidimensional data integration activities, including design, development, testing, change management & implementation of new solutions or enhancements to existing systems. 

  • Contribute to the Data Integration designs and code across the three Actuarial regions, including Canada, US, and Asia.

  • Work on Actuarial Projects and maintenance enhancements across multiple line of business data warehouses. 

  • Ensure that all data integration efforts align with the company's strategic goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide data management guidance around several complex regulatory & compliance activities (IFRS17, OSFI, DOE reporting, etc).

  • Support Actuarial Data Scientists, AXIS Modelers, BI developers, QA team, Infrastructure and Operations teams and the global IT teams.

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated 5 or more years of relevant enterprise-level API-driven development experience.

  • Proficiency in Python scripting language and database technologies such as SQL Server.

  • Extensive experience with data integration, design and architecture using Python, Informatica and Azure Data Factory.

  • BI/DW validated experience with SDLC methodologies (i.e. Waterfall/Agile, Rapid)

  • Strong understanding of Informatica, SQL, DevOps tools, Microsoft SQL, and SQL Server Management Studio.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience working in a cross-matrix organization and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in the Insurance Industry or in banking/financial institutions in a global environment is a plus.

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD
