Internship in Computer Vision: Depth Estimation for Real-Time Applications

Purpose

IDEMIA's R&D unit, comprising 100 researchers and developers, is a leader in biometrics, video analysis, and secure systems innovation. Our technologies aim for global excellence while enhancing user experience across diverse fields such as digital identity, fraud detection, access control, and mobile biometrics.

Key Missions

We are looking for talented interns in Deep Learning and Computer Vision to:

• Explore and adapt recent foundation models like Depth Anything
• Develop a compact, real-time depth estimation model tailored for resource-constrained systems
• Work on critical applications such as autonomous driving, augmented reality, and robotics

Responsibilities:

1. Research state-of-the-art depth estimation and foundation models
2. Prepare training and evaluation datasets
3. Implement a lightweight model using knowledge distillation techniques
4. Test and validate real-time performance

Profile & Other Information

• Student in the final year of an engineering program or a Master's 2 degree
• Background in Deep Learning / Computer Vision
• Curious, proactive, and autonomous
• Results- and solution-oriented
• Clear and persuasive communication skills
• Fluent in English (both spoken and written); additional languages are a plus
• Eagerness to contribute to the full algorithm lifecycle: design, implementation, integration, testing, and optimization
• Strong interest in innovation and tackling technological challenges

Additional Information:

• The position is based in La Défense.
• Internship duration: 5 – 6 months.
