This is a remote role but may require occasional in-office attendance at one of our main hubs in London and/or Madrid.
Responsibilities:
Accessing and cleaning datasets in all shapes and sizes, including large-scale tabular data, knowledge graphs, and complex text corpora.
Producing and maintaining analyses, reports, and visualizations to discover and explain valuable insights.
Implementing data pipelines and Machine Learning solutions to solve complex problems while writing well-designed, maintainable, and testable code.
Collaborating with backend engineers for the development, deployment, scaling, and maintenance of the data systems and services you build.
Closely working with product and other subject matter experts to understand problems and design original solutions.
Qualifications:
2-4 years of experience as a Data Scientist.
Strong understanding of statistics and machine learning methods (e.g., linear and nonlinear models, hypothesis testing, Bayesian approaches, etc.).
Experience with the Python data stack for data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.
Knowledge of data querying languages such as SQL.
Familiarity with or curiosity about global security threats and other issues impacting commerce and finance.
Experience with Natural Language Processing.
Understanding of Graph Theory, Statistical Analysis of Networks, and Graph ML.
Experience with Graph Databases or Semantic Knowledge Graphs.
Experience with big data technologies like Spark and Databricks.
Container-based deployment experience using Docker and Kubernetes.
BS/MS in a highly quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, etc.)

As a Data Scientist at Kharon, you will be required to analyze structured and unstructured datasets – from our core Knowledge Graph to information extraction from multiple natural language sources – and connect the dots in a way that is meaningful by uncovering and quantifying risk exposure. You will be closely collaborating across our Data and Engineering, Product, and Research teams to produce analyses that uncover unique insights and build scalable systems to power our multiple offerings.

The base salary range at Kharon is set between €78k-€95k annum. Please note that this figure does not necessarily include potential bonuses, commissions, benefits, or equity that may be part of the overall compensation package.
