JOB SUMMARY

The Business Intelligence Developer reports to the Sr Director, Business Analytics and Data Integration Technologies as part of the Information Technology team.  This role develops, maintains, and provides production support for the Data Warehouse and Power BI Tool used throughout the company.  This role works closely and collaboratively with other Software Engineers and with the Project Management resources on the IT team, such as the IT Development Manager, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance Analysts, along with business users from all At Home departments to design, develop, implement, and support all system solutions related to the Business Intelligence needs.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop data integration pipelines - i.e. Extract, Transform, Load development work 
  • Build reports and construct databases to optimize the performance of a data warehouse while maintaining security and integrity of said data
  • Develop Power BI dashboards to transform data into business information that will help management fulfill strategic business objectives
  • Construct complex SQL queries and work with other data extraction, reporting, and analytic tools to support the development of Ad Hoc queries
  • Assist QA resources with the definition of test cases and setup of scenarios for QA testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Author functional and technical design documentation
  • Interface with business and other technical resources to define requirements
  • Oversee the deployment and monitoring of application changes

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience is considered. 
  • 5+ years’ experience with SSIS data integration tools, or 5+ years’ experience with MS Power BI. 
  • 5+ years’ experience with the Microsoft Database technology stack
  • Prior experience in a retail organization a plus
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and control job responsibilities to meet deadlines and an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease.
  • Ability to navigate disagreements through consensus building, relationship management and the formation and presentation of logical, data and fact-based positions.
  • Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English, including the ability to provide clear, constructive direction and feedback to team members.
