We are looking for a Technology Specialist (Data Analytics) for our Digital Natives team covering Switzerland. As a Technology Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of Data Analytics technologies. This means designing systems that fully leverage the unique capabilities of the cloud, such as scalability, automation, and cost efficiency. Working within a virtual team of technical, partner, and consulting resources, you will help educate your customers at a technical level, demonstrating and proving our solutions, in order to influence the technical decision. Being part of this team will allow you to maintain and develop your knowledge across Microsoft and non-Microsoft cloud-based technologies such as  Azure data services, Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft Fabric. 
 
Digital Natives is a pretty new team at Microsoft and we’re taking care of the startups that have over €20M-30M of investment, are unicorns or are the top technical fast-growth companies in EMEA, like Mistral or Wayve. Responsibilities

As a Technology Specialist, you will own and win the technical decision of customers by demonstrating the value of Microsoft’s cloud services, and gaining our customers’ trust in Azure for their workloads, tools, and data. Some of your key responsibilities will include: 
 

  • Own technical discussions with customers leveraging processes and tools, demos and programs; using consultative sales methodology and technical expertise to influence customer vision; establish rules of engagement for extended teams. Support the creation of new pipelines in the account team by identifying new opportunities. 
  • Build technology strategy, solutions roadmap and vNext architectures together with execution plans by mapping the agreed customer business outcomes into an appropriate Azure technology framework, resolving concerns, preventing and removing technical blockers, and translating technology complexity into business impact. Work with the customer, account team, and partners to drive and support the customer’s AI transformation inclusive of AI applications and data foundation. 
  • Design the solution using your technical knowledge, architect skills and consulting skills to win a customer’s technical decision and meet the customer’s needs; drive Pilots/Proof of Concepts (PoC) to create momentum for Minimum Viable Product (MVP), infusing AI technologies where appropriate and being technically proficient to do Proof of Concepts (PoC) with hands-on skills. 
  • Scale through partners by engaging in partner sell-with scenarios to carry out technical engagement activities, facilitating and managing partner resources and processes for Pilot/Proof of Concepts (PoC)/Minimum Viable Product (MVP). 
  • Be the Trusted advisor and be proactive to find and understand customers’ pain points and design and offer the technical solution that aligns with the business case. 
  • Be the Voice of Customer to share insights and best practices, connect with Engineering team and Global Black Belts to remove key blockers and drive product improvements. 
  • Maintain and grow expertise in developer tools, cloud native architecture and technologies, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights. 
  • Help our DN customers grow and develop their technical strategy together with the AEs, Data & AI TS and CSAs in a quick, changing and competitive environment. 

 

Qualifications

With your ability to communicate at all levels within an organisation and your determined and adaptable style, you will be a key driver of Microsoft’s ambitions to partner with the largest start-ups and digitally native organisations in the world. To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate: 

  • Practical knowledge of data analytics platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft Fabric. 
  • Understanding of Azure data services, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory and PowerBI, SQL Databases 
  • Confident applying the concepts of data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance. 
  • Extensive experience in a technical pre-sales or technical consulting role  
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid, or on-premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management 
  • Regular interaction with senior level decision-makers 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent work experience
