Job Summary

AI Platform Core Components drive Red Hat’s contribution to key open source AI communities. We work on PyTorch, vLLM, Triton and their many dependent and related projects. Our mission is to support and foster these communities, as well as productise them as part of RHEL AI and OpenShift AI.

The OS Platform team is looking for a Senior Manager to lead the integration of  RHEL AI into a RHEL based operating system appliance. Your teams will be responsible for bringing all the pieces of RHEL AI together into the end product our customers will consume. They are also responsible for the administrator experience of installing, updating and monitoring the RHEL AI operating system. Previous experience with Fedora-based operating systems are highly desirable, and experience with bootc or Image Mode RHEL would be a big plus.

What we expect you to bring is a passion for both Open Source software and its communities, as well as a desire to contribute to Red Hat’s mission to help customers bring AI to their data.

What you will do:

  • Lead and inspire a distributed team of individual contributors, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment with impact across AI Engineering

  • Work with product management, customers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to contribute to the product vision and roadmap as well as an execution plan to achieve this vision

  • Work with cross-functional engineering managers and teams on documentation, product management, and quality assurance to coordinate tasks

  • Evolve cross-team processes as needed to improve execution as the team scales

  • Work closely with the technical leads and scrum leads to direct the team in agile development.

  • Mentor and guide team members and managers in their career development, and growth.

  • Recruit new associates and managers within the growing engineering team.

What you will bring:

  • Strong experience developing Fedora-based operating systems, or using them as basis for product offerings

  • Understanding and practice of the open source way: transparency, inclusive collaboration, effective community engagement, and the release early & often philosophy

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Passion for open source principles and practices

  • Understanding of core Machine Learning concepts

  • Significant experience in managing software engineering or operations teams, with a sustained track record of successful project delivery and development of software engineers

  • A servant leadership approach with the abilities to build a high-trust team culture and coach a large team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

  • Ability to lead and work with diverse and distributed teams from multiple countries and cultures

The salary range for this position is $171,860.00 - $292,080.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
