We are looking for a Director, Global Asset Modeling.

 

In this role, you will report to the Managing Director, Head of Global ALM & Structuring and will be the overall leader of the global asset optimization modeling efforts.

 

The Director, Global Asset Modeling will work closely with regional ALM teams, investment teams, finance, capital and risk teams to enhance the company's asset allocation and asset liability management strategies, thereby driving value across insurance business units.

 

What you will do:

• Develop quantitative models to optimize asset mix and drive decision-making processes in strategic asset allocation (SAA) and asset liability management (ALM).

 • Set up object-oriented infrastructure that interfaces efficiently with time-series data.

• Create user-friendly modules to streamline input / output processes.

• Understand business drivers and constraints for each insurance product line and incorporate these factors into models using a quantitative approach.

• Facilitate the creation of global asset sourcing plans and track progress.

• Participate in tactical asset allocation (TAA) projects driven by changes in market conditions and deal opportunities.

 • Engage in additional ALM projects to efficiently manage capital market risks across accounting and capital regimes.

 

What you will bring:

• 7-10 years of experience in quantitative modeling, preferably within financial institutions like banks and insurance companies

• An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, or a degree in quantitative subjects (i.e., Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Economics) along with programming experience. Advanced degrees (MS, PhD) and CFA are advantageous

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and MATLAB is preferred. Experience with Julia is advantageous, though not mandatory

• Knowledge of project management techniques

• Innovative and strategic mindset with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities to uncover effective solutions.

• Capability to handle complexity and uncertainty, and make prompt and well-informed decisions

• Flexibility to adapt and manage within a fast-paced, dynamic business environment

The base salary for this position is between  $89,900 - $166,300 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
