Senior Data Engineer

Join our Go To Market Analytics Centre of Excellence and make a significant impact by developing machine learning products that enhance pricing and marketing strategies. Our goal is to influence pricing and marketing decisions across all HP products worldwide, leveraging advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning.

We're seeking a Data Engineer to help us optimize our data systems in our MLOps team. You'll be part of a project team, working on all aspects of complex data systems, from design to integration, and leading the evolution of our data architecture.

Role responsibilities:

  • Working alongside various teams of MLOps and Software engineers to assist in the design, development, testing and integration of data systems.

  • Engaging with stakeholders from various backgrounds and managing team-level objectives.

  • Championing operational excellence with a focus on reliability, quality, and efficient automation.

  • Leading the adoption of new technologies to evolve our data systems in our architectures.

  • Providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles.

  • Expertise in data engineering systems (e.g., Databricks, SQL engines) and optimizing both relational and non-relational databases.

  • Proficiency in Python Programming and SQL-language.

  • Prior experience with Apache Spark (PySpark) is a plus.

  • Experience in cloud-native product design and operation, preferably with a major cloud vendor like AWS.

  • A solid understanding of data-intensive system principles (e.g., consistency, sharding, horizontal scaling).

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.

  • Ability to work on Agile Scrum teams.

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently under a fast-paced environment.
